Training Location — By Appointment Only
AFT commonly meets students at Ashland Gun & Archery Club. Training is scheduled in advance—AFT is not staffed at the range, and walk-in appointments are not available.

AFT offers handgun, rifle, and shotgun training from Introduction to Range Use through progressive self-defense courses. Outside-the-Home self-defense training is offered for handgun only. AFT also offers youth shooting programs, archery, pepper-spray, and Stop the Bleed training.
No. A firearm is not required for Introduction to Range Use—Handgun, Rifle, or Shotgun. AFT uses inert training guns for classroom and handling exercises and recommends waiting until the live-fire evaluation before purchasing a firearm.
Requirements vary by course. After AFT reviews your interest form and speaks with you, we will confirm the location, firearm or training equipment, ammunition, and required eye, ear, and other protective equipment.
AFT welcomes adults and offers age-appropriate youth training in handgun, rifle, shotgun, and archery. Youth participation is based on maturity, physical capability, and the ability to follow safety instructions. A parent or guardian should contact AFT to discuss eligibility. Youth archery is available for ages 8–15.
